Was appointed as First Chief Justice of Jharkhand High Court on 04.12.2000 and was sworn in as such on 05.12.2000. Was transferred as Chief Justice to High Court of Himachal Pradesh on 08.03.2003.   
  

2. Hon'ble Sh. Justice T.S. Thakur

Was appointed as Hon'ble Judge of High Court of J&K on 16.02.1994 and worked as such upto 04.03.1994. Was transferred to High Court of Karnataka on 24-03-1994 and thereafter transferred to High Court of Delhi in July 2004. 
 

3. Hon'ble Sh. Justice B.A. Nazki

Was appointed as Hon'ble Judge of High Court of J&K on 06.01.1995 and worked as such upto 14.10.1997. Was transferred to High Court of Andhra Pradesh on 15.10.1997 and was  appointed as Acting Chief Justice of High Court of Andhra Pradesh on 04.04.2005.
 

4. Hon'ble Sh. Justice R.C. Gandhi

Born on 22-01-1948. Enrolled as Pleader on 10-09-1974 and as an Advocate on 28-02-1981. Practised in the Jammu and Kashmir High Court in Civil, Criminal, Constitutional and Service matters. Appointed as an Additional Judge of the Jammu and Kashmir High Court, on 06-01-1995. Appointed as permanent Judge on 26-11-1997 and worked as such upto 15.01.2006. Was transferred to High Court of Rajasthan and took oath on 17.01.2006.
 

5. Hon’ble Shri Justice Permod Kohli

Born on 01-03-1951. After graduation from GGM Science College, Jammu secured Degree of Law from University of Jammu in the year 1972. Joined Bar at Jammu on being enrolled on 12-10-1972. Appointed Additional Advocate General of the State during Governor's Rule in the year 1990 and took over as the Advocate General of the State in December 1990 continued as Advocate General upto January 1992 and designated as Senior Advocate in April 1991. His Lordship appointed Additional Judge of the High Court of J&K on 07-01-2003 and as permanent Judge on 03-01-2005 and worked as such upto 28.04.2006.Was transferred to Jharkhand High Court, Ranchi and took oath on 04.05.2006 and remained there upto 04.05.2007. Was transferred to High Court of Punjab & Haryana, Chandigarh and took oath on 10.05.2007.
 

6. Hon’ble Shri Justice Nisar Ahmad Kakru

Born on 26-10-1949. Enrolled as a Pleader in August 1975, as a Vakil on 06-02-1979 and as an Advocate on 01-04-1982. Practised at Baramulla in the District & Sessions Court and other Courts from August 1975 to 1983. Appointed as Public Prosecutor in Sessions Court, Baramulla, and functioned as such from 1978-1981. Resigned when private practice to the Public Prosecutors was disallowed by the Government. From 1984 practised in District Courts and the Jammu and Kashmir High Court in Civil, Criminal, Constitutional, Service, Labour, Company matters etc. Appointed Chief Government Advocate (Additional Advocate General) from Feb. 1988 to Jan. 1990. Resigned when the Government in place at the relevant point in time stepped down; Advocate General of the State from Nov. 1996 to Nov. 1997. Appointed as an Additional Judge of the Jammu and Kashmir High Court on 26.11.1997 and as permanent Judge of the same High Court from 20.12.1999. Functioned as Executive Chairman of J&K State Legal Services Authority and Chairman of J&K High Court Legal Services Committee. Functioned as the Acting Chief Justice of the High Court of Jammu and Kashmir, on three occasions, from 01.04.2007 to 06.06.2007, 12.11.2007 to 07.01.2008 and 20.10.2008 to 02.01.2009. Appointed as Chief Justice of Andhra Pradesh High Court, vide Notification No. K. 11017/1/2010-US.II dated 11.02.2010, issued by Government of India, Ministry of Law and Justice.
